With Christmas just five sleeps away, Little Rabbit is counting down the days with help from his kindy teacher and Māmā. From making decorations and cooking to singing songs and wrapping gifts, Rāpeti prepares in his own special way for the big day.
This is the eighth adventure for Little Rabbit, in the Oma Rāpeti - Run Rabbit series. The bilingual stories, written by Norah Wilson and translated by Pānia Papa, offer readers an accessible introduction to te reo Māori for younger readers and their whānau. Wilson and Papa use rhythm and repetition to make this a beautiful book to share aloud. It's a book that is usable - for whānau learning Māori, there's plenty of opportunities to use the kupu learned in the book in real life.
Artist Kimberly Andrews' signature watercolour illustrations bring Little Rabbit's world to life. They are adorable and full of Kiwiana touches to spot.
The series helps foster a love of reading and encourages learning. With a sweet storyline and gorgeous illustrations, this latest book in the delightful series is another valued and valuable addition to any child's library.
