The Maclean Brothers: Three Brothers in a Boat by Ewan Maclean, Lachlan Maclean and Jamie Maclean

This book excels on so many levels. The story itself is amazing: three brothers rowed 9,753 miles non-stop and unsupported across the entire Pacific from Peru to Australia in 139 days. Not only was it a record-breaking odyssey, but they also raised over a million pounds for charity.
The Maclean brothers – Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan – first made global headlines in 2019 when they became the fastest trio to row across the Atlantic Ocean, covering 3,000 miles in 35 days and breaking the previous speed record by nearly a week.
Determined to keep working together for causes they believed in, they founded The Maclean Foundation, with a mission to raise funds for clean water projects. But there’s much more to the story than that and getting the different perspectives from the three brothers provides an engaging, humorous, informative and entertaining read.
The journey tested both their resolve, their relationships and their belief in one another as they were challenged by severe storms, uncooperative currents and the toll it took on their bodies.
It also explores how an extreme physical trial tests not only physical endurance, but also family dynamics, mutual trust, and deep-seated psychological resolve.
For those intrigued by true stories of intrepid journeys that bring out endurance, bravery and fortitude and battling the odds along with the elements, this is a must-read.
