A well-respected judge is dead, and Leila Reynolds is defending Jack Millman, the man accused of his murder in this extremely high-profile case. One problem is that this is her very first murder case, and this is way beyond her level of experience.

The second problem is that she is pitted against her experienced KC husband, who is prosecuting, and has taught her everything she knows about law.

The third problem is that her client is refusing to talk. He has pleaded not guilty but says he won’t say anything more until he is on the stand. All the evidence points to him murdering the judge, but Leila is determined to win this unwinnable case. Losing for her is not an option, and she knows she must find a convincing argument to secure Jack’s acquittal.

This courtroom drama is page-turning and compelling, with a man’s liberty and Leila’s marriage on the line. Is Jack guilty or not guilty? Will Leila’s marriage survive the competition in the courtroom? And who is the mysterious Witness X, and what do they have to do with this case?

The author was a criminal barrister before raising a family, and this book brings a courtroom trial to life with authenticity, though it has many twists and turns, as a good crime novel should. Dissection of a Murder is expertly plotted and will have twists you didn’t see coming. Highly recommended!
