With her warm, trademark blend of romance, food, wine, and travel, Erin Palmisano transports us to a sun-kissed vineyard in Argentina in her latest novel.
After a breakup with her fiancé, Victoria Bishop decides to take a six-month sabbatical after a surprise letter informs her that she is inheriting a vineyard in Mendoza. She has always wondered about her birth family, and her adoptive parents encourage her to make the trip.
However, when she gets there, despite the picture-perfect scenery, she discovers that the vines have been barren for many years, and in the village, she feels out of place – no one seems to want her there.
But Victoria feels an unexpected connection to the land, and when she discovers an old diary, she learns that the lack of grapes might be linked to family secrets from the past. She sets to work renovating the home, and finds herself drawn to next-door neighbour Dev, a handsome and charming winemaker who might be able to help with the vineyard – if it ever wakes up again.
The Secrets of the Lost Vineyard is enchanting and uplifting, a little bit magical, with a warm cast of characters.
