The New Zealand Nature Activity Book, by Dave Gunson, is exactly the sort of book I used to buy my kids when they were younger, but those books were rarely New Zealand based. How wonderful to have one on the shelves – and just before Christmas, no less – that has New Zealand children in mind.
This activity book is full of science experiments, creative activities, puzzles and quizzes. There are pop out masks, mobiles, wind whizzers, and creepy crawly critters to be made. And it’s all based on New Zealand flora, fauna, landmarks and geography. Expect your children to lose many hours to within these fun, creative and exciting pages, and they will learn a lot about New Zealand as they go.
The New Zealand Nature Activity Book will make a great Christmas present for the little ones, and this book is sure to keep them occupied over the long summer break. And for younger visitors to the country, it would be a fun way to get know our place.
