First up is the question, just what is the CSIRO? If you think it’s a new TV show solving crime, you’d be wrong! The CSIRO is the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, an Australian Government agency responsible for scientific research. They have published many popular recipe books, the latest being The CSIRO Low-Carb Diet Easy 100.
The reason their recipe books are so popular is that all the recipes are created based on the latest scientific research to keep you healthy and well. They explain things like daily food units and what you should eat daily for great energy levels. They cover setting up your kitchen and pantry and how to best store your food. But if this sounds a bit dry and dreary, it’s not. This book features gorgeous food photography and 100 delicious, easy-to-cook recipes!
For example, who could resist:
Feta, Spinach and Sundried Breakfast Muffins to start the day? Or a Strawberry Cashew Yoghurt Bowl?
There are recipes like Zucchini Pancakes with Crispy Chickpeas or Salmon Nori Rolls for lunch.
And for dinner, I like the look of Moroccan Chicken Meatballs, or the Smoked Pulled Pork Shoulder with Asparagus Slaw.
I think the CSIRO cookbooks are a must-have for any cook who cares about their health, and their latest recipes in the Easy 100 is a great one to start with.
