Run Rose Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson

It may seem like an unlikely partnership, but the collaboration between the legendary country superstar and one of the best storytellers truly works.

Set in Nashville, the story is about a young woman who arrives in the country music’s capital city to pursue her dreams. The source of her heart wrenching songs is a secret she has tried to hide, but the past is catching up with her. The past she has fled, is trying to control her future and it may destroy everything she has worked for.

Run Rose Run is a story glittering with danger and desire. Dolly Parton’s expansive career obviously provides rich detail and narrative. Coupled with James Patterson’s deft suspense building plot, Run Rose Run was guaranteed to hit the bestsellers list. As part of the creative writing process, Dolly wrote an album of 12 new songs for the novel.

Dolly Parton is a singer songwriter who has composed more than 3,000 songs and sold over 100 million records. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has also gifted more than 150 million of books to children. James Patterson is one of the best known writers having sold more than 375 million copies world wide. James is also passionate about encouraging children to read and has donated millions in grants to independent bookshops.

Not surprisingly, a movie adaptation is underway, with Dolly Parton set to star in the feature film. Meanwhile, watch the book trailer here and read an extract of Run Rose Run here.
