One: Simple One-Pan Wonders by Jamie Oliver

My favourite cooking style is the one-pan meal – it’s just so easy with minimal washing up and usually minimal preparation. So I approached One: Simple One-Pan Wonders by Jamie Oliver with a great deal of enthusiasm. I have several of Jamie’s books and use them often, he does fabulous recipes.

I was not disappointed with his new book. There are over 100 recipes to choose from and organised into categories such as Frying Pan Pasta, Veggie Delights, Celebrating Chicken, The Joy of Eggs, Burgers & Toasties, Fabulous Fish, Appreciating Meat and Batch Cooking. It even has Puds & Cakes.

Here are the recipes I thought were standouts:

  • Smoked Salmon Pasta – and it only takes about 8 minutes to make!

  • Vege Stew and Dumplings – such a tasty, nutritious meal. The whole family will love this one.

  • Rosemary Roast Chicken – easy to make and something a little different.

  • Vibrant Fish Tacos – they look as good as they do in the photo.

  • Lemon Honey Pork Ribs – this recipe is definitely a keeper.

  • To finish, I thought the Pear and Gingerbread Cake was a delicious baking dish – both a pudding and a cake.

One: Simple One-Pan Wonders hits all the right notes for a cookbook for the average cook. Easy to prepare, delicious food, fabulous photography, and in this case, very little washing up afterwards.
