No Bad Deed by Heather Chavez

If you are a fan of Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay you will enjoy this gripping debut thriller by Heather Chavez. This page turner focuses on a split-second decision that puts Cassie and her family in danger.

Driving home from work one evening, Cassie suddenly sees a woman on the side of the road being attacked. She pulls over and rings the police, being told to stay in her car until help arrives. Against advice and reason, Cassie leaves her car to intervene. She saves the woman, but while she is helping the victim the attacker steals her car, including her handbag. Now the attacker knows her name and where she lives.

The very next day is Halloween and her husband disappears and abandons their six year old daughter Audrey while trick or treating. Later, she receives a text, saying he’s sorry… but is it really him?

Detective Ray Rico is soon investigating the disappearance and suspects that either Cassie or her 15 year old son, Leo is involved. Meanwhile, Cassie desperately searches for answers and discovers that nothing is as random as it seems.

Heather Chavez has worked as a journalist and lives in California with her family. She is currently writing her second novel. Follow Heather online.
