The New Zealand homes featured in this gorgeous hardback are breathtaking, offering the perfect blend of natural beauty and artisanship that seamlessly integrates into their surroundings.

The book features six homes that could be called ‘New Zealand Rustic’, where the owners were interested in their relationship with their immediate landscape. While each home is unique, they all share a peaceful ambience. Looking at the pages, I just wanted to sit in all the homes and relax, enjoying these environments that are so in tune with nature.

The book has information about lighting, textures, colour and style, before we visit the tranquil homes featured: Waiau Homestead, Raggedy Ridge House, Te Au Homestead, Rumble Bay House, Ginkgo Point House and Manukard Gard – even their names transport you from city life, to a more relaxed way to live. Needless to say, the indoor-outdoor flow in each home is more than a real estate slogan; it's a way to live in nature, with plenty of verandas and outdoor settings.

Inside the various homes, there are plenty of natural materials, such as timber and stone, as well as reclaimed materials like vintage furnishings and weathered timbers, which give the homes a timeless feel.  Some of the homes are new, while others are old, but what they all have in common is the feeling of being one with nature, of feeling a little untamed.

Every page in this carefully crafted book is a delight, with earthy textures and tones that complement the hills, bush, or coastal settings. The photography is stunning and the text insightful. Simply superb!
