Lonely Planet travel guides have become the go-to for many travellers over the years. This new Love Japan guide is a celebration of Japan’s culture, crafts and customs. It is written by over 30 Japan-based writers, so the information comes from a local perspective.

There is no doubt that Japan is on the hot list right now for travel destinations. Partly because of the incredible value for money, but also because the culture is so interesting and different. Understanding the background and history of many aspects of Japanese culture is something tourists will benefit from. It also dispels some of the stereotypes associated with Japan.

With great photography and illustrations, it is nicely presented and very readable. It’s a great addition to the detailed travel guides available and will benefit both new and seasoned travellers to Japan.
