Learn to count with the Little Yellow Digger and friends in this new adventure by Peter Gilderdale, based on the much-loved stories by his parents Betty and Alan Gilderdale.

This time, readers can explore a whole world of brightly coloured diggers in a 1 to 10 counting story. Each number is linked and the book forms a simple rhyming story, as the Little Yellow Digger is joined by friends until there are 10 of the machines getting a wash. There's more than just heavy machinery to count too, with some animals joining in on the fun.

Artist Fifi Colston brings her own touches to the Little Yellow Digger world, while paying homage to the classics. The inside cover includes each machine with the proper name, no doubt a helpful addition for those younger readers who love heavy machinery.

It is also not solely a counting book, with each page offering options to extend younger readers. Keen readers can explore colour or dog breeds, and there's opportunities for readers to pause and infer, to make predictions and  build anticipation. This latest release is a thoughtful and educational addition to the Little Yellow Digger series that will appeal to many younger readers.
