It’s impossible to select my favourite essay from this new book, as they are all irresistibly funny, insightful and fabulous. As colourful as Peta herself, this well-known personality shares eclectically from her life. From her hilarious Agony Aunt letters, cooking classes and encounters with friends, lovers and the badly behaved, Peta approaches life with panache, in a book seasoned with wit and style.

There is so much to learn from reading this well-crafted and entertaining book. Peta offers a great deal of insight on love, ageing and sex, and good reasons for not letting yourself go. Whether it is choosing to wear red lipstick, sexy lingerie, and colourful clothes, her stories are warm and funny but also peppered with insights about life and the importance of living it to the full.

Peta isn’t afraid to share stories that are very personal. Eyelid surgery, reconnecting with an old lover, and dealing with people who have let her down, including a terrible business partner, are just some of the revelations. But throughout, this is a book that sparkles with good times, plenty of food, love, and laughter, leaving you feeling upbeat and positive.

It’s Been Six Weeks Since My Last Confession is a delightful book of essays that you can dip in and out of according to your mood. Alongside the different chapters, there are also tips on what to eat, and the helpful hints at the back of the book are invaluable. This is where I do have a favourite. ‘You’re never too old for anything. Don’t listen to other people. Listen to yourself.’
