Haiming Jiang is a certified NLP Master Practitioner, certified NLP Instructor, comedy hypnotist, and a professional member of the American Board of Hypnotherapy. Can you tell us a little about the new book?

In the last 9 years of my life coaching experience, I've worked with over 400 individuals primarily grappling with depression and anxiety. I've played a crucial role in helping them overcome anxiety and boost their confidence. Throughout this coaching journey, I've observed that individuals struggling with depression and anxiety often cling to beliefs that are harmful to their well-being. Changing these negative beliefs becomes the key to altering their thinking patterns, ultimately aiding them in breaking free from depression and anxiety.

ABCD coaching centers around identifying these negative or limiting beliefs and guiding individuals in transforming them into positive ones. After successfully modifying their original beliefs, many of their life challenges fade away, leading to increased happiness and restored confidence. This transformative process ultimately eradicates feelings of anxiety and depression.

I have published approximately 300 Chinese videos on YouTube discussing how to utilize the ABCD method to alleviate anxiety and enhance confidence. The audience feedback has been fantastic, serving as a source of encouragement to embark on writing this book. The effectiveness of ABCD coaching in significantly reducing anxiety and boosting confidence is evident through the positive responses.

The premise underlying ABCD coaching is that all mental or emotional challenges are connected to anxiety. By addressing the root cause of anxiety, many life challenges can be resolved swiftly. This understanding forms the basis for the book, aiming to provide valuable insights and strategies to help individuals overcome anxiety and build lasting confidence.

How difficult was it writing your first book?

Writing this book is not a challenging task for me as I have already produced 300 videos on ABCD coaching. My approach involves systematically reorganizing the existing content to align with the structure of a book. The initial publication is in Chinese, and the English version essentially serves as a translation of my Chinese book. This process allows me to share the valuable insights and strategies of ABCD coaching with a broader English-speaking audience, leveraging the success and positive feedback received from the Chinese version.

What research was involved?

My main research work has revolved around delving into the realms of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and hypnotherapy, with the aim of applying these principles to assist clients in reshaping their thinking patterns. Through extensive practice and real-case scenarios, I've managed to condense and simplify the complexities of NLP and hypnotherapy. The result is the ABCD coaching method, which, according to feedback from my students, is both remarkably simple and incredibly powerful.

This echoes an old Chinese saying: "The most profound takes the simplest form." The effectiveness of the ABCD coaching method, despite its simplicity, reinforces the notion that profound transformations can be achieved through straightforward and accessible approaches.

What was your routine or process when writing this book?

First, I outline the main chapters, and then I search for all the articles I have previously written that can be incorporated into the book. For the missing parts, I conduct online seminars for my YouTube audience, discussing the relevant topics, and subsequently transcribe the content for inclusion in the book. This approach proves to be highly effective in the book-writing process.

The entire process, from planning to writing and editing, typically takes around 6 months. This comprehensive strategy allows me to leverage existing content, engage with the audience through seminars, and seamlessly compile a valuable resource on ABCD coaching.

What did you enjoy the most about writing ABCD Coaching?

This book represents a systematic approach to teaching ABCD coaching. While my YouTube videos and articles are typically short and focus on specific topics, they may not provide a comprehensive view of ABCD coaching. The book serves as a cohesive resource that makes it easier for readers to grasp the entirety of ABCD coaching and apply its principles to solve real-life problems. By presenting a structured and thorough exploration of ABCD coaching, the book aims to empower readers with a deeper understanding and practical application of this transformative method.

What did you do to celebrate finishing this book?

I just cooked a nice meal for myself.

What is the favourite book you have read so far this year and why?

I don’t read books a lot nowadays, but I have more than 30 private coaches, psychologists, hypnotists, and counsellors to guide me. I prefer getting answers directly from them instead of reading books. This way, I can save time by obtaining the right answers directly, rather than going through a whole book. Although a book may have 200,000 words, the key message can be very simple and short. It takes 200,000 words to explain the key message. However, asking the author directly will save me many hours compared to reading and understanding the entire book.

What’s next on the agenda for you?

I am poised to perform numerous comedy hypnosis shows around the world this year. It promises not only a lot of fun but also a fantastic opportunity to introduce ABCD coaching to a massive audience. My show seamlessly combines comedy hypnosis with motivational speaking.

The initial phase involves 20 shows in New Zealand, with subsequent plans to expand to Australia, Asia, and European countries.
