I Can Do It by Suzy Cato and Kath Bee

From adored children's entertainer Suzy Cato and award-winning singer Kath Bee, this is a story of affirmation and a story to encourage children to use their imaginations and give things a go.

The story, first written as a song, comes with a catchy tune. I highly recommend streaming the song first as the book can seem a little disjointed on the first read through. But the catchy song brings it to life. This song and the accompanying book will no doubt be a big hit in early childhood education and lower primary school. The song has great rhythm and you can't help but dance along.

Illustrator Rose Northey's delightful pictures bring extra energy and imagination. Her characters are diverse, full of personality and emotion. Her drawings are charming, with so much to take in and lots for little eyes to spot - the cow with sunglasses, a tree branch roller coaster and lots of native New Zealand flora and fauna, to name just a few.

There's a neat little design feature to help support our young readers build print awareness, which at the same time allows Northey extra space to show off her style.

This is an imaginative and energetic story with an important message for our younger readers.
