Horti Curious: A Gardener’s Miscellany of Fascinating Facts and Remarkable Plants by Ann Treneman

This wonderfully diverse collection of facts, figures and foliage is a celebration of plants, gardens and gardening. All things horticultural can be found here, from the phantasmagorical to the practical and everything in between.

This gorgeous book by Ann Treneman is a treasure trove of floral facts and botanical delights. Readers can dig down into all aspects of the horticultural world - meet the first garden gnomes, find a recipe to create a cocktail flower garden, or see the world through the eyes of a bee.

Treneman explores a multitude of plants, from beautiful botany, including extraordinary plants and flowers that can cure and kill as well as the secret meaning of bouquets, to inspiring people and spaces and incredible edibles. It's packed full of facts, quotes, dates and more, but Treneman's style of writing doesn't bog the reader down - it's fresh and fun. From exploring urban farms to living architecture, fairy gardens to foraging, there really is something for every gardener, no matter their green thumb.

The book is easy to read, with little snippets to dip in and out of, or if you're more a cover to cover-type person, that works too.

The book is beautifully illustrated with diagrams and graphics to help explain and educate. The designers have kept the book fresh and timeless, with plenty of white space and a calming aesthetic. With a hardcover, it's a book that will last through the years too.

Horti Curious is the blooming perfect pick for everyone, from the plant geek to the novice with just a small patch of soil.
