Hairy Maclary and Friends: Six Rollicking Stories is a hardback book that includes some of the best stories, including Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy, Hairy Maclary’s Bone, Hairy Maclary’s Caterwaul Caper, Hairy Maclary’s Showbusiness, Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack, and Hairy Maclary’s Hat Tricks.
My daughter (3 and a half) adores Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack, the tale of the unlikely friendship between a dog and a duckling. She will usually open the book straight to that story first, but each of the stories are wonderful, with colour illustrations, and brilliant rhyme. No doubt you already know a few Hairy Maclary stories yourself, but if you are looking for a book containing the best, then this is definitely one to consider. It is hardback, with strong paper on the inside, perfect for rough children. This book gets tossed around a lot but still looks great.
