With more than 100 recipes, this cookbook, with its cheery yellow cover, is ideal for busy parents, so it is a fabulous resource for families wanting delicious and nutritious meals for every day. With no fuss and simple ingredients, the recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients that are easy to find.

It’s a well-designed hardback with colour photos for the recipes. The food is mostly sugar-free and with an emphasis on whole foods and plants and eating seasonally.

There are so many fantastic recipes in Family Cooking, but some of the standouts for our family are:

  • Chicky Nuggets – so popular for lunch or dinner. They are a delicious twist on a classic.

  • Cheesy Vege Muffins – these are packed with protein and cheesy perfection, and finely chopped veggies included. These have the serious yum factor.

  • Fudgy Black Bean Brownie – it is easy to see why this one of the author’s most loved recipes.

  • Best Banana Bread – so quick to whip up and super sensational!

  • Peanut Satay Chicken – one of her family’s favourite recipes and now one of our favourites too.

  • Sausage and Spinach Pasta – super child-friendly and very easy to make.

  • Mexican Pulled Beef – can be served with tacos, nachos, wraps and steamed rich.

  • Chicken and Leek Pie – the ultimate comfort food, and it makes for delicious leftovers too.

As the title suggests, Family Cooking is designed for families, who will return to this fabulous cookbook again and again.
