I think the best thing about Jamie Oliver's cookbooks is that you know what you’re getting. Oliver is reliable with his recipes, and we know that he will have put the popular and super versatile air fryer through its paces in order to provide both simple and complex delights for the reader.

Oliver starts the book by talking about air fryers: what a great “bit of kit” they are in a kitchen; how they work, and the five staples you should keep in your pantry if you own an air fryer. The selection of recipes covers quick fixes, snacks, canapes, vegetables, fish and meats, “proper puds” and baking.

My pick of recipes was the creamy garlic mussels, chicken schnitzel, sweet chilli prawn burgers, loaded BBQ bean potato skins for a quick winter lunch, roast chicken dinner for one with Yorkshire pudding—who thought to make Yorkies in an air fryer? Tomato and mozzarella tart, avocado chips, Oliver’s famous, really good roasties, golden duck and sweet onion gnocchi, and Eton mess trifle.

Each recipe also lists: all the nutritional facts plus preparation and cooking times; the serving size and how many drawers are needed, one or two; and beautifully presented photographs throughout. The instructions are easy to follow and allow for both vegetarians and meat-lovers.

If you are new to air frying or simply looking for inspiration, Easy Air Fryer will provide ideas for some delicious eating experiences.
