A gorgeous coffee table hardback, this book showcases 100 beaches from around Australia. There is something for everyone: from surfing and water sports to tranquil beaches for relaxing, to other locations teeming with marine life. Each beach features stunning photography, and all you would need to know to inspire a visit. From the Whitsundays to the beaches along the Great Ocean Road to Kangaroo Island, these beaches are exceptional in different ways.
The book is organised by territory/state: Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. There is also a quick guide to the 5 best beaches for wildlife watching, accessibility, snorkelling, remoteness, families, camping, surfing and bushwalking.
Our favourite beaches were varied:
Horseshoe Bay in Bowen appealed for its dramatic beauty, situated at the northern end of the Whitsunday region.
Sunset Beach, Lizard Island, North Great Barrier Reef. Fine sand and spectacular views!
Iconic Bondi Beach in Sydney. A must-visit beach in any season.
Zenith Beach, Port Stephens. Panoramic coastal views, this is stunning!
Pebbly Beach, Murramarang National Park, South Coast. Particularly appealing with its resident kangaroos!
Crescent Head, Macleay Valley Coast. This is a dream for anyone who surfs.
Childers Cove, Great Ocean Road. Described like a pot of gold waiting at the end of the rainbow. This is beautiful.
Trousers Point Beach, Flounders Island. To be honest, this appeals for the fun name!
Cottesloe Beach/Mudurup, Perth/Boorloo. One of my favourite beaches to visit when I visit my sister who lives in Perth.
For anyone visiting Australia who enjoys beach life, this book is a must-have!
