Arabella Lestrange has spent the last 150 years hating Gideon Blake, the human who destroyed her life and forced her to flee Paris and her underground vampire cabaret. From being a notorious dancer and inventing the art of pole-dancing, Arabella has spent the decades rebuilding her life in the shadows, determined to keep out of the limelight, never wanting to risk her heart again after Gideon’s betrayal.
But she has recently let her guard down just a little by making friends with the humans at the Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven, where she now lives, who are intrigued and excited to have a vampire in their midst. She is shocked when she bumps into Gideon again, now a vampire as well, and is determined to exact her revenge. But has she been hating the wrong person for all this time? He’s still as charming as ever, but now a billionaire property developer with exceptional taste, and he still makes her heart race. Can she hold a grudge still, or will giving love a second chance be a grave mistake?
A Grave Mistake is a cosy paranormal romance that is deliciously good fun with sizzling chemistry between the main protagonists and a loveable ensemble cast of humans. The writing is witty, and the entire set-up is genuinely funny. This engaging read features luxury new builds, designer clothing, an unorthodox book club, plenty of sexy (and not-so-sexy) pole dancing, mystery, murder, and intrigue.
This is the second book in The Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven series, so I must go and find a copy of the first book, Fangs for Nothing, to enjoy!
