Michelle Bridges has spent 30 years in the health and fitness industry in Australia, and her work is about people having happier and healthier lives. She is the author of 16 books on nutrition & fitness.
Her latest book, 12WBT Low-Carb Solution, has more than 120 simple low-carb recipes, there are dietitian-approved meal plans, easy to-follow exercises, and general advice for people to foster long-term health. There is a lot of info about smart carbs. I’ve selected this book, not for the weight loss advice or the 12 Week Body Transformation aspect – although I know that will be important to a lot of people – but I wanted to highlight this book as it has really great, healthy, tasty recipes! Here are just some of my favourites:
The summer smoothie bowl is a wonderful start to the day, whatever the season.
Grated Beetroot and Chickpea Fritters. The Moroccan seasoning adds the x-factor to this dish, and I love anything with avocado.
Fish Kebabs with Green Leaf Salad. This is a fun fish twist on a classic kebab!
Chicken Curry Patties with veggie noodles. This is winning chicken dinner for winter.
Thai Fish Cakes with bean sprout salad. If you like a little extra spice, you can add some chopped fresh chilli.
The 12WBT Low-Carb Solution features simple to prepare, real food that the whole family can enjoy. I think the recipes featured are great for long-term health, and this will be a book that families will use again and again.
