Win The Ghosts of Young Nick’s Head, by Sue Copsey!

A summer holiday at an isolated old house perched high on a cliff top turns sinister for 11-year-old friends Joe and Eddie when Joe discovers a message scratched on a bedpost, and senses a presence watching him.

What is the secret of the haunted room? What is the shadowy form that lurks out on the headland? And why do Joe and Eddie keep finding themselves THIS close to becoming ghosts themselves? Should they tell the parents, run away home and spend the rest of the holidays on the Playstation? Or should they turn ghost-busting detectives and attempt to solve the mystery?

With the help of the local museum’s eccentric curator and a national TV crew, Joe and Eddie set out to uncover the secrets of the ghosts of Young Nick’s Head, and finally crack a mystery that has remained unsolved for more than 100 years.

The Ghosts of Young Nick’s Head is a spooky adventure story for children aged 8–12.

Yes I did when I was about 9 years old. We had just moved into a new house and I was in my bedroom when suddenly this woman just materialised- she was standing (!) maybe a foot off the ground with long dark hair and dressed in a white dressing gown type of garment. She also appeared t be scowling at me. She was there for a good several seconds before I got really shocked and frightened and yelled out to my older brother and sister, who of course didnt believe me. But I swear to god she was as real as day-this was no childs fancy imagination. My late grandfather also had some unusual photographs that he took on a trip to the famously haunted Norfolk Island, some of which appear to have ghosts in them

I saw a ghostly white hand tap on my bedroom window once when I was a kid. Scared the bejesus out of me!

Only in movies and that’s real enough as far as I’m concerned

We lived in a house with a ghost that showed up at least weekly, he was an old man (that had died in the house) and would terrorize my little brother and touch him on his face. He also banged on walls, shook doors and was a real pain in the family.

When I was 13 I saw a young woman in old fashioned clothes standing next to my bed in the middle of the night. She smiled at me and vanished, I did not feel threatened or afraid. A few months later I saw photos of my Grandmother for the first time, she had died of TB when she was 24 Years old, and I recognized my visitor 🙂

Ghosts in whichever form are with us always. It is up to us to protect ourselves against the unruly ghosts by telling them to not bother you. It is a fact of life for most members of my family.

Yes! His name was Donald and he was eating a bowl of spaghetti. Ghost spaghetti, naturally. He ate very tidily considering he was transparent.

Hi – Sue here, author of The Ghosts of Young Nick’s Head. I’m loving reading your comments – I make it 7-4 to those who’ve seen a ghost and those who haven’t. Interesting! I am pretty sure I’ve seen one, despite being a sceptic at heart.
