Instant Expert: Jesus, by Nick Page

This is the first book I have read in this series and I’m impressed. The author, Nick Page, delivers on the promise of the Instant Expert Series “all you need to know in an hour”.

This book introduces readers to Jesus the man. Whether you have faith or not, Jesus as a historical figure is still utterly relevant. Perhaps even more so today when so much of the world’s conflicts claim to be on one side or other of the faith divide(s).

In this small volume, Page uses biblical quotes effectively and sparingly to support his arguments and presents the story of Jesus from his birth to crucifixion. The historical social context of the times described we get a feeling for the man, his values and the challenges he faced. Of course the book is not detailed, but it’s a great starting block if you are wanting to learn more about the man that two billion people round the world claim to follow.
